DSM Global Company is the official importer and distributor of Borgward in Nepal, has commenced the construction of an all-new Borgward 3S centre in Balaju, Kathmandu. The new 3S centre which will house a 4000 sq ft showroom, 5000 sq ft parking area, and a 4500 sq ft service area is expected to be completed by March 2021.
German car brand Borgward officially announced the beginning of its partnership with Valley Motor Group as an official importer and distributor of Borgward automobiles in the Nepalese market last April. The first batch of the BX5 premium compact SUV has already arrived in the capital.
Featuring a length of 4490mm and a wheelbase of 2685mm, the Borgward BX5 is a four-door, five-seater, premium compact SUV which will rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan, Kia Sportage, and so on. The BX5 comes with a fully variable torque-on-demand all-wheel drive as an option, and a comprehensive range of comfort and convenience features like the B-Link Smart Connectivity System and a centrally-located 8.0-inch touchscreen system. The BX5 was also the recipient of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2017.
Depending upon the trim level, the BX5 comes loaded with several features like automatic halogen headlamps, LED taillights, LED DRLs, keyless entry, cruise control, keyless entry, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster display, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front parking sensors, dual-zone air-con system with rear vents, powered tailgate, and power-folding side mirror with puddle lamps. The BX5 is available in two engine options – a 1.4-litre motor that produces 148 hp of power and a 2.0-litre motor that produces 221 hp of power. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. While the smaller 1.4-litre engine is offered with a front-wheel drivetrain, the 2.0-litre is available as an all-wheel-drive option.
